adidas Originals Celebrates Chinese New Year With The NMD R1 'CNY'

With Chinese New Year just around the corner, adidas Originals has given the coveted NMD R1 a Lunar New Year-inspired makeover, and it's pretty fire. Aptly dubbed 'CNY', we actually got a sneak peek of this festive shoe early last month!

Featuring a murdered out mesh upper with a complementary Boost midsole to boot, the 'CNY' is accented by hits of red at the Three Stripes and tongue. A premium suede heel badge adorns the back, complete with an embroidered lion head that is painted in a slew of eye-catching colours. Of course, this isn't a new idea, with this concept being implemented on the Neighborhood x Invincible x adidas Consortium NMD R1, which graced out collections back in December of last year.
