Nowadays, a sneaker collaboration with an artist is nothing new, however, back in 1986, this type of partnership was unheard of, so when adidas signed Run DMC for a $1 million endorsement deal, the world was left in awe. Now, over thirty years later, the Three Stripes is hoping to channel the same energy with the Superstar 1986.
Arriving with no laces, the Superstar 1986 is inspired by DMC's "My Adidas"; music video, where the legendary American hip hop group wore them laceless with the tongue pushed out. That said, if you're not a fan of this look, it will come with two sets.
Working on an ultra clean white colourway, gold-finished branding graces the tongue, heel counter, and along the side panels for a look that's made to turn heads. Crafted from premium leather, the classic shelltoe makes its presence known around the front, rounding off the timeless design.
If you want to re-live the iconic Run DMC x adidas collab, then cop the adidas Superstar 1986 on April 26th! Let us know if you'll be grabbing a pair for your collection, and while you're here, be sure to take a look at the full adidas sneaker range!
