adidas is back at it again, blending vintage looks with modern details in a redesign that's anything but subtle. After the “Cheetah” takes on the adidas Samba and adidas SL 72 flew off shelves faster than you could say "add to cart," the Three Stripes is now giving Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s legendary signature shoe a faux cowhide makeover. Udderly bold, don’t you think?
This new design moves away from classic basketball feels, embracing a sophisticated, lifestyle driven look. The faux cowhide material embodies the rising “Americana Core” trend in fashion, fitting right into wardrobes inspired by the California cowboy aesthetic; much like the recent adidas Rasant Mid. Additional standout details include a brown leather adidas Jabbar logo on the tongue, clean white Three Stripes, and a pre faded Trefoil logo on the heel. Completing the design is a light brown gum sole, adding a touch of vintage charm.
The release of the cowhide Jabbar Hi comes amid a larger revival of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s signature sneaker. The model has already resurfaced in its original white and blue colourway, along with collaborative releases from Atmos and Footpatrol.
As of now, no release date has been announced for the faux cowhide adidas Jabbar Hi. Stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available.
