While they may be facing an early knockout at the hands of The Gunners, Real Madrid have long been seen as the Kings of European football. Having won the Champions League 15 times, they are undisputedly the most successful European club. Celebrating this pedigree and history, adidas and Real Madrid are coming together to release one of the most iconic kits in the club’s history.
Dropping tomorrow, adidas are releasing a faithful remake of Real Madrid’s 1999/2000 Champions League winning kits, right down to the iconic Teka sponsor. While the home jersey has already dropped early at select retailers, the complete collection of the home and away kits as well as the ideal summer track jacket are set to drop on adidas tomorrow.
To celebrate the release of the collection, some of the most notable Galacticos were brought together for what we can only imagine was the best game of headers and volleys the world has ever seen. Included in this lineup were Real Madrid’s three most capped players, Raúl, Casillas and Manolo Sanchís, as well as legends of the next-generation like Marcelo and Militao.
This has been one of the most lovingly faithful restorations of a kit we’ve seen in a long-time, with even the smallest of details being accounted for including a baggier 90s fit and detailer embroidery. While buying one of these kits won’t guarantee you Roberto Carlos’ thunderbolt of a left foot, it will make for an excellent addition to your summer wardrobe.
More than just a kit, own a piece of nostalgia. The full collection is set to drop 11th April at adidas.co.uk and other select retailers.
