New York City streetwear brand Aimé Leon Dore and the iconic German automaker Porsche have teamed up again, unveiling the Porsche 993 Turbo designed by Teddy Santis. However, sneaker enthusiasts were also intrigued by a new Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 993 collaboration, subtly revealed alongside the car.
Only one image of the Made in USA 993, placed on the Porsche's soft leather seats, has been shared, yet it offers plenty of details.
The sneaker mirrors the car's elegance, featuring ultra-soft suede overlays and tongue that echo the Porsche's design. There is a rich blend of suede, mesh, and leather, predominantly in green to match the car. Yellow and slate grey add bold accents, while the midsole’s bone and white tones create a nice contrast.
Although it’s unclear if Aimé Leon Dore branding is present on the heel and tongue, previous collaborations suggest it likely is. Many consider this ALD’s finest New Balance collaboration in recent memory, with its “Made In USA” premium materials reflecting Porsche's luxury, marking it as a standout joint effort.
As of this writing, Aimé Leon Dore has not announced an official release date for the sneakers. While Porsche probably wasn’t directly involved in their creation, these sneakers are likely part of a comprehensive Aimé Leon Dore x Porsche collection, set to debut at the brand's London store on 22nd November to coincide with the car's official reveal.
