Whether it's under his role as Creative Director of New Balance’s Made in USA line, or under the direction of his Aimé Leon Dore imprint, Teddy Santis and the Boston-based footwear brand are a match made in heaven. And, not content with just totally managing to reinvigorate a silhouette he’d pulled from the archives (we have Santis to thank for the 550 of course) Santis has now turned his attention to one of the buzziest models of the moment, the New Balance 1906R.

Now we've had it in-hand, we can confirm that the Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 1906R is shaping up to be very special. Staying true to the retro runner’s techy style, a leather and mesh build remains, only this time it's been dressed in a classic ALD colour combo. A cream mesh base provides the perfect starting point, while sage green and silver overlays provide structure and detail. To the rear, a dark green caging unit protects the heel, which matches the rose gold-lined N-lock logo at the midfoot. Co-branded hits then call out the collab at the tongue tab and insole, while a plush green lining dials up the comfort factor.
Right now, the ALD x New Balance 1906R is expected to drop on the 4th of May at New Balance. If these are on your must-cop list then be sure to hit the release reminder buttons for your best chance of securing your size on the day.
