It’s been an absolutely huge week for Off-White news, as we’ve already seen the official unveiling of Virgil Abloh’s “Dear Summer” collection that will feature 50 different Nike Dunks, and now news just in reveals that an Off-White x Air Jordan 2 Low is likely to release this year! The Air Jordan 2 is definitely one of the lesser seen models from Jordan Brand, so we’re interested to see how Virgil can put his spin on this one.
First launched back in 1986, the AJ2 was designed by both Bruce Kilgore and Peter Moore (the designers behind the AF1 and Dunk/AJ1 respectively), although it wasn’t incredibly well-received at the time and was not favoured by Michael Jordan himself. While it still remains a lesser-seen model today, the AJ2 has made a resurgence through various releases over the years.
As of yet we’ve only seen a mock-up of the potential collaboration, but from previous experience it looks fairly accurate and could represent how the model will look when it comes to release. It looks set to be crafted from technical mesh fabric and displays a Nike Swoosh logo stitched on, unlike a lot of Air Jordan 2s. The colour scheme is made up of white, beige and red and Jordan Brand’s wings logo features at the tongue.
Of course, the pair wouldn’t be complete without AIR branding on the midsole, as well as an Off-White zip tie (although this isn’t pictured). If you’re looking to get your hands on the Off-White x Air Jordan 2 Low, you’ll have to sit tight a little longer just yet, as there’s no official release details floating about just yet.
