Last month, we got a sneak peek of the Air Jordan 1 High OG "Atmosphere". An extremely puzzling colourway with reasons that we'll going into later, we're now taking an on-foot look at it, getting up close and personal with all the details that you might not have spotted the first time around.
Bearing a striking resemblance to the "Rust Pink" from 2017, the "Atmosphere" works on top of a pebbled white leather base while stealthy black descends upon the lacing system and toebox. Patent pink panels wrap around the ankle and heel, offering up a contrast that is sure to turn heads wherever you go. A Nike Swoosh shoots across the lateral and medial side panels, and of course, you can't talk about this silhouette without mentioning the legendary winged basketball that finely stamped onto the ankle.
Going back to what we mentioned in the introduction, according to our sources, this Air Jordan 1 is actually inspired by Michael Jordan's love of chewing gum. While many of you didn't believe us the first time around, one look at the outsole and you'll find a splodge of pink that looks like you just stood on gum. This is a pretty funky detail that you won't find on any other AJ1 colourway, so it's definitely one for the collectors!
Expected to land on December 22nd, the Nike Air Jordan 1 High OG "Atmosphere" is sure to end the year with a bang! Let us know what you think of this colourway as well as its inspiration, and in related news, the A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 1 High is on the way!
