Another COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Waffle Racer Is On The Way

It's crazy to fathom how fast the sneaker industry evolves. Back when the first COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Waffle Racer was unveiled in 2017, literally nobody batted an eye. Now that the retro silhouette has grown in popularity, everyone and their dog wants a pair. A departure from her first pair's sleek nylon aesthetic, Rei Kawakubo is going back to her roots with 2020's version, and here's your first look!

Dipped in an all-black colour scheme that's as stealthy as it gets, CDG's Waffle Racer is decked out in soft suede, while a denim Swoosh shoots across the lateral and medial side panels complete with frayed detailing for a grunge-like vibe.

Smooth leather hits the heel tab, while classic nylon detailing graces the tongue to add to the intriguing material combination. Classic "CDG" branding stamps the back in white, while the '70s runner's signature waffle rubber outsole finalises the design.

Now for that all-important release date! The COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Waffle Racer is set to drop in-store at Dover Street Market on January 27th.
