The Japanese sports giant continues to champion young designers, with its most recent collaboration being with designer SneakerLAH for a new Gel-Kayano 20 “Ice Kacang”, celebrating ice kacang, a shaved ice dessert native to Malaysia.

The colourway pays homage to the very loved dessert with a predominantly white upper, nodding to the shaved ice, and layers with rose pink panelling and yellow elements for the rose syrup and the sweet corn topping. The touch of green on the dual Gel technology in the midsole salutes to the cendol of the ice kacang, and its Fluidfit cage is designed like the drizzle of evaporated milk.

This isn’t the first time SneakerLAH links up with Asics Sportstyle: “We’ve been championing Malaysian storytelling through all our past collabs, and this is no exception,” said SneakerLAH founder Bryan Chin about the release and his previous work with Asics. “In 2019, we celebrated Nasi Lemak, our national dish. 2020 brought KLCC, our landmark building and the world’s tallest twin towers. 2022 was Teh Tarik, our iconic national drink, followed by MAMEE Monster in 2024 – my personal favourite snack growing up. Now, in 2026, we’re back with ‘Ice Kacang’, one of my favourite local desserts.”

The SneakerLAH x Asics Sportstyle Gel-Kayano 20 “Ice Kacang” drops exclusively in Malaysia in October, followed by a wider worldwide release.
