Contributing Writer

Karl is a freelance writer and editor, passionate about food, fashion and music. He loves minimalist design, maximalist pop music, gothic fonts and Witch House. Karl has an extensive collection of thick-soled, all-white sneakers, a weakness for Japanese streetwear labels and a lot of theories about hype economics. He was previously the head of Editorial at HYPEBEAST's UK office, the Managing Editor for Reviews at independent music website The Quietus and currently also manages social media for the fashion house FENDI. Currently based in London, having also recently lived in Los Angeles, Karl has been working as a writer since 2008, covering all aspects of culture – from poetry books to emo rap – and has written for the likes of DAZED, CNN, Highsnobiety and CRACK. His newsletter, "YOU COOK PLANTS GOOD, MAN." is a bi-weekly tribute to plant-based food.
