The continuing partnership between adidas Originals, Bad Bunny, and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 just shifted up a gear. Earlier this summer, Bad Bunny and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team forged new ground, bringing Formula 1 to Puerto Rico for the first time in the racing circuit’s history. Over 12,000 residents gathered at the legendary bridge connecting Condado to Old San Juan to witness a stunning demonstration by Mercedes-AMG and driver Esteban Gutiérrez.
This remarkable 2nd August demo run marked the first time a Formula 1 machine had ever touched Puerto Rican ground. Now, the collaboration moves forward, celebrating that event by formally announcing Bad Bunny as the newest team member. He brings his utterly fearless approach to breaking new ground directly into the motorsport world.
This history making event coincided with Benito's appointment as an honorary member of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team amidst his successful No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí residency on his home island.
Further commemorating the monumental moment, adidas Originals arranged an incredible archive at the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico. The sportswear brand officially unveiled the Adiracer GT and select apparel pieces from this three way partnership of cultural giants right there. Fans also received a glimpse of the adidas Badbo.
This partnership captures pure energy in motion, where culture speeds up and style takes the lead. This marks Bad Bunny's comprehensive ‘head to toe’ vision rooted in racing culture and the pure excitement of velocity.
adidas Originals officially reveals the upcoming collection through a sharp lookbook, displaying a variety of 2000s era racing inspired apparel pieces. At its heart, the footwear completely updates the classic driving shoe. It boasts a low profile and a smooth, flowing form. The design modernises the early 2000s racing model using a technical approach, layering an exoskeleton structure over an aerodynamic profile. This outer ‘cage’ rests upon a refined suede underlay, taking its cue from materials used in Formula 1 racing footwear.
The Adiracer GT features substantial racing heritage detailing, with prominent typography and decals typically found on these mega powerful vehicles. ‘94’ is a recurring theme, referencing both his race number and his birth year.
The accompanying clothing reimagines archival racing details through the unique cultural lens of Bad Bunny. High quality materials and sophisticated branding throughout give the collection a high fashion aesthetic that truly celebrates racing culture. The line up includes a cap, zip up tees, a race jacket, racing gloves, and pants.
The Adiracer GT will be available exclusively on the adidas Confirmed App via a preorder on 25th October, 2025, at 5 PM ET (10 PM BST). The apparel collection will follow, becoming available in November. Want to stay on top of this developing story? Simply download The Sole Supplier app.
