Over the weekend the popular resale destination StockX revealed its annual Big Facts Current Culture Index, a report that analyses sales data from over the previous year to pick up on new trends and offer predictions for the year ahead. While the top 3 most popular brands remained unchanged (Jordan Brand, Nike and adidas), New Balance and Converse did swap places last year, now sitting in 4th and 5th place respectively. One new contender in the top 10 in particular stood out though, with BAPE jumping an impressive six places, signalling a huge resurgence in popularity. While the Japanese streetwear brand has always been relevant, perhaps it’s time for it to enter the big league once again.
Last year saw the label put a huge focus back on footwear, reissuing the OG version of the famed BAPESTA silhouette and also launching the SK8-STA for the first time ever. This projection could well continue into 2022, as we already know that BAPE has an upcoming JJJJound collaboration, as well as several other high-profile BAPESTAS. Make sure to keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for all the latest, as we’ll be the first to let you know! While you’re here check out the rest of our site and take a look at the just-seen COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Max 97!
