After having a vice-like grip over the collective streetwear scene with last year's offerings, BEAMS and Arc'teryx have returned once again to deliver the best in collaborative outerwear. Looking to mirror the success of its predecessor, this latest link-up boasts a range of shell jackets and matching accessories.
Having worked with END. Clothing, Clarks and New Balance in the past few weeks, you could say Japan's own BEAMS is on somewhat of a collaborative roll, but this latest collection might just take the cake. Included, we see reworked and upcycled renditions of Arc'teryx's Beta Jacket, Atom Hoody, Mantis 26L Backpack, and Mantis 2 Waistpack, each inspired by the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi (the acceptance of imperfections to you and I.)
Those familiar with last year's work will be pleased to know that the mismatched and colour-blocked aesthetic has made a triumphant return, this time complete with a monochromatic colour palette. Shades of black, white, and grey make up the majority of the offerings, backed up by a muted lilac on selected pieces.
Keeping with Arc'teryx's knack for functionality, both GORE-TEX and Coreloft materials are included within the mix to protect its wearer from the elements. For those looking to get their hands on this one, you might be in for a tough time. Arc’teryx x BEAMS Project is set to go up for pre-sale on the 2nd of December at BEAMS Harajuku and BEAMS BOY Harajuku. We have no doubt in our minds these pieces will hit the resale market, but let's keep our fingers crossed for a European release in the meantime.
Up next, One Block Down x C.P. Company is built for the great outdoors.
