Well, this was unexpected. A few days ago, adidas took to their social media profiles with a mysterious teaser, leaving the sneakersphere buzzing with rumours and gossip. Now, the wait is finally over, and the Three Stripes has officially announced that it has signed none other than Beyoncé!
Described as a "multi-layered"; deal, according to CNBC's Jess Golden, Queen B will become a creative partner for the brand which will include the launch of signature sneakers and apparel. In a statement, the 'Lemonade' artist explained, "This is the partnership of a lifetime for me. adidas has had tremendous success in pushing creative boundaries. We share a philosophy that puts creativity, growth and social responsibility at the forefront of business. I look forward to re-launching and expanding Ivy Park on a truly global scale with a proven, dynamic leader.";
Marking her first step into the sneaker game, she'll be launching Three Stripe collabs under her own Ivy Park label that's been wildly popular in the athleisure market. At this moment in time, pretty much nothing else is known about the Beyoncé x adidas collab, so be sure to keep it locked at The Sole Supplier for more news as it develops!
Are you surprised that Bey didn't sign with PUMA like her husband, Jay-Z? Do you think she'll work on current silhouettes or create an entirely new sneaker? Let us know what you think be sure to take a look at the full adidas sneaker range!
