adidas Originals and Miaou have finally connected, bringing us the debut joint collection. The duo’s shared goal here is to take motor racing culture, filter it through a distinctly feminine aesthetic, and root it in the iconic imagery of California.
Alexia Elkaim set up Miaou in 2016, and in less than ten years, the brand has become a significant player, truly influencing the future of the womenswear sector. Miaou approaches design with a focus on femininity, constantly updating past styles and shapes for today's customer while building a passionate global following.
The campaign visuals, shot in a Californian desert, star Gabbriette, Devon Lee Carlson, and founder Alexia Elkaim themselves, capturing Miaou’s irreverent and playful character as they travel by car across the landscape.
We arrive at the footwear, which truly captures the defiant attitude of automotive culture. The duo are coming with two distinct trainers that immediately command attention. The first, the Miaou Boot, takes the low profile Taekwondo sole unit and drastically extends the upper. It features a high cut mesh body, leather Three Stripes, and an 'M' logo zip pull in black metallic. This execution gives the overall silhouette a dramatic rise.
Then there's the Mei Elite Miaou, a slightly shinier number. This style uses a striking silver satin upper and offsets it with vibrant yellow stripes along the side. The ‘M’ branding is embroidered right onto the tongue, securing the cobranded signature. The collection extends to apparel and accessories, all drawing inspiration from motor racing kit but reframed for urban life. A black jacket features an asymmetric two way zipper, offering versatile styling. A black dress uses navy padded sleeves for structure. A three piece ensemble is included, true to Miaou's signature look: a corset style track top, matching track trousers, and a base layer. Finally, a yellow bag with navy branding details completes the set, giving enthusiasts a complete look.
Mark your calendars, everyone. The first drop from this partnership lands on 11th November. You'll find it on adidas.com, the Confirmed app, and at certain retailers.
