For this Community Spotlight, we headed up North to Wakefield to visit Red and Sam, the duo behind Baggys TV. Over the past few years, the two have been hard at work, becoming a strong authority on all things Air Max 95 and baggy jeans.
The two met originally became mates back in school, but it wasn’t until College that the two bonded over all things streetwear. Supreme and Palace drops, which Nike trainers were coming out, had you bumped into them back then, there is a strong chance you’d have heard them talking crepes.
“My first pair of Air Max 95s were the Jacquards”, recounts Red, a version of the 110 that became an entry point for many sneakerheads in the 2010s. The slimmer profile, the Ultra lightweight upper, the Jacquard was a banging first pair of 95s to own.

“It’s a universal shoe”, says Sam, a man who’s put some serious miles into his pair of “Solar Red” Air Max 95s. Ask Red why he loves the silhouette so much and he’ll tell you “you can wear 95s with so many different types of outfit.” A nice jacket and nice jeans is the ultimate formula when rocking these iconic Nikes, just don’t spend too much time worrying about the t-shirt though, says Red.
But not everything is as simple as finding the perfect pair of trainers, as the two recount the trials and tribulations of running a business. “The first two years are tough”, says Red, “buying stock, unexpected costs. It’s like that saying, 90% of businesses don’t make it past the two year mark.”
“Yeah, that one’s a little too close to home”, replies Sam. The two laugh it off.
Baggys TV had recently flown out to the Nike US headquarters to take part in the Airworks Project, so we asked them how the experience was. “It was the most aligned job we’ve ever done.”, said Red, a big smile on his face, “you’re going to be talking about Air Max, you’re going to be in Oregon. The dream was to work with Nike, and now that’s been ticked off.”

It was clear from spending time with Baggys TV that the passion for the culture was real. We’re glad that Red and Sam are a big voice within the UK, two lads who know a thing or two about making Air Max 95s and baggy jeans look good.
Shoutout to the Baggys TV for opening up the studio to chop it up with The Sole Supplier, all the best for the future lads!
