It’s no secret that 2022 has bought about a lot of change within the sneaker industry, but as sneakerheads patiently wait to see what the landscape offers without input from Kanye West, it seems that adidas could be looking to drop the first non-branded Yeezys very soon. Rumours that surfaced on Reddit suggest that the “Granite” Yeezy 350 V2 colourway is set to release, and it looks like the German sportswear brand could be looking to trademark the shoe’s signature SPLY-350 wordmark, too.
Earlier this year, adidas CFO Harm Ohlmeyer announced on an investor call that the 3-Stripes still planned to go ahead with producing Yeezy designs, even though the brand had ended its partnership with Kanye West. Elaborating on the statement, Ohlmeyer confirmed that a dedicated team was working on leveraging the existing Yeezy inventory, with releases planned to happen as soon as January 2023.
Though the news surrounding the “Granite” 350 V2 is still unconfirmed, could this be the first step into a post-Ye future for the brand? Let us know what you think, and be sure to stay locked to The Sole Supplier for any updates on the situation!
