To celebrate Chinese New Year, adidas Originals has unveiled a four shoe pack that features some of the most iconic silhouettes in the German brand's catalogue. Consisting of the NMD R2 and the EQT Support ADV, the latter of which leaked all the way back in October, and the classic Superstar 80 and Campus, the collection pretty much has something for everyone.
Dressed in an ultra clean white and red colour scheme with touches of beige throughout, these sneakers are meant to represent the four Chinese blessings – happiness, fortune, longevity, and luck. Each shoe features embroidered detailing around the heel, as well as a matching bamboo hangtag that represents each of the the four aforementioned blessings.
If you're planning to cop any of the sneakers, the adidas Originals 'Chinese New Year' pack is available now. What do you think of the collection? Do you think it's the perfect way to celebrate the occasion? Or do you think the shoes are just too simple? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
In related news, Nike has just unveiled the Air VaporMax 'Chinese New Year'. Featuring a smart combination of black and multi-colour Flyknit that separates it from the rest of Nike's releases, there are no special motifs or logos on this Air VaporMax to denote that it is a CNY themed sneaker, but what it does boast are 3M hits, with reflective detailing coming on the midfoot Swoosh as well as its heel branding.
