The great Pablo Picasso once said, "Good artists copy, great artists steal";, and it looks like Dolce & Gabbana have taken this quote a little too literally.
Yesterday, the Italian luxury fashion house took to Instagram to unveil their brand new Sorrento sneaker. Teased in three colourways, sneakerheads everywhere couldn't help but to make comparisons between it and adidas Originals' NMD line-up, and to be honest, we really can't blame them.
Featuring a Primeknit-esque upper, the Sorrento makes use of a sock like design, similar to that of the NMD CS1. Underneath, a 'Trail' outsole is present, as well as a bunch of EVA plugs around the heel portion of the sneaker. If you're still not convinced, just take a look at the heel tab which looks like it was taken straight from the NMD R1.
Available now, the Dolce & Gabbana Sorrento sneaker will set you back an eye watering £600. For that price you can probably buy two pairs of Pharrell Williams x adidas Originals NMD Human Races with plenty of change to spare. Let us know what you think of the sneaker in the comments section below!
