Flaunting a rich history of collaboration, DUKE + DEXTER x Playboy are at it once again, joining forces for the third and final time. With the first two collaborations considered a resounding success, this latest link-up looks to follow suit with a fresh selection of retro images and motifs gracing a total of five new styles.
Before fully embracing the digital side of things back in 2020, Playboy was a titan in the magazine scene, having delivered some of the finest men's lifestyle content since 1953. Now, as a duo, DUKE + DEXTER x Playboy look to repurpose some of the magazine's most iconic covers, all atop the D+D's surging Wilde Penny Loafer silhouette.
The images in question are each taken from or inspired by Playboy's decorated archive. For example, covers from March 1975, May 1988, and August 2015 adorn the toe box and tongue area of three separate loafers, delivering a distinguished retro aesthetic. In addition, the Sketch design has been bought back for a fourth time, with two pin-up designs alternating on each foot.
While all models are unisex, an exclusive for the ladies has been produced. Found on the Party Jokes page of the magazine, the Femlins soon became one of Playboy's most iconic motifs, and now the signature can be found across this special women's model.
For those looking to get their hands on the DUKE + DEXTER x Playboy collaboration, you can cop exclusively from the D+D's website on the 1st of September. In other footwear news, the Air Jordan 1 "Praline" is inspired by luxury handbags.
