End of an Era: Raf Simons Closes After 27 Years

In a move that certainly none of us had on our 2022 fashion bingo card, Raf Simons has officially announced the closure of his namesake label via an Instagram post. After an astounding 27 years in the game, Raf Simons took to the social media platform to explain his recently debuted Spring/Summer 2023 collection will indeed be the brand's last offerings.

Simons then went on to express his gratitude to his droves of loyal fans, supporters and those who have contributed to the brand. Simons noted "I lack the words to share how proud I am of all that we have achieved,” I am grateful for the incredible support from my team, from my collaborators, from the press and buyers, from my friends and family, and from our devoted fans and loyal followers.”

For die-hard fans of the brand, this announcement might come as a bitter pill to swallow. Raf Simons, for many, is a name completely synonymous with the upper echelons of the fashion sphere, with his work not only gracing his namesake brand but also the likes of Jil Sander, Dior, Calvin Klein and Prada.
