Back in September 2016, Alexander Wang x adidas made history with their first ever collaboration. Unveiled in New York City, the partnership changed the game as we knew it. Now, three years later, the power duo continue to make waves with their latest Spring Summer 2019 collection, and here’s everything that you need to know about it!
Paying homage to the 1980s club leisure trend, the entire collection is designed for both the club and gym environments. Combining the Three Stripes’ innovation with the American designer’s unmistakable fashion aesthetic, the range comprises of cycling shorts, cropped tees, bodysuits, leggings, gym shorts, and track jackets, all painted in clean black and white palettes.
With that said, Wang has also implemented the athleisure staples with a slew of ’80s inspired graphics. “Wangbody”, “Pro-Flex”, and “Pro Form Advanced Workout” motifs give the monochromatic pieces a pop of vibrant nostalgia.
Of course, like seasons before it, the Alexander Wang x adidas SS19 collection also features a bunch of high heat footwear options, with the stand out sneaker being the Wangbody Run. Arriving in two ultra clean palettes, it features a retro leather upper and a midsole that’s taken straight from the Marathon TR – a silhouette that made its debut back in 1979.
Elsewhere, the iconic Bball and Bball Soccer make a comeback, the former painted in a summer-ready ‘Clear Pink‘ hue, while the latter is dipped in a ‘Chalk Pearl‘ scheme that’s perfect for both the football pitch and the runway. All four models sit atop Boost-infused midsoles for unbelievable comfort with every step.
The Alexander Wang x adidas SS19 collection is set to hit adidas and select stockists on April 20th. Let us know which pieces you’ll be copping, and while you’re here take a look at adidas’ full sneaker range!
