Earlier this year, adidas changed the game with the release of the Ultra Boost 19. A lightweight, deconstructed take on the “best running shoe ever made”, sneakerheads and athletes everywhere wanted a pair in their collections. Now, if these rumours happen to be true, it looks like the Three Stripes are looking to disrupt the industry once again with the Ultra Boost 2020, and here’s your first look!
Images courtesy of sneaker insider @wavegod_thelegend, the alleged Ultra Boost 2020 takes design cues from the UB19 but gives it a much beefier silhouette that’s more akin to model of the past. Featuring a stealthy black Primeknit upper that looks like it has been reinforced, a rugged cage wraps around the wearer’s foot for extra stability and support with every step.
Around the heel, you’ll find a one-piece heel cup that made its debut earlier this year, and down below, the first ever iridescent Boost midsole is present, changing its look depending on how you look at it. This links to the space theme that’s surrounding the entirety of the shoe, with a rubberised “Boost In Space” badge on the tongue, and “adidas ISS National Lab CRS” emblazoned on the insoles.
At this moment in time, pretty much nothing else is known about the adidas Ultra Boost 2020, but we’re beyond hyped for the future of adidas’ most popular silhouette. Keep it locked at The Sole Supplier for more release info as it develops, and as the great Neil Armstrong once said, “That’s one small step for Boost, one giant leap for sneaker-kind.” He didn’t say that? Never mind then.
