The future has arrived. It’s been almost three years since Nike first dropped the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0, and within this time, sneakerheads around the world have been (im)patiently waiting for the forward-thinking silhouette’s successor, and it’s finally here.
Dubbed the Nike Adapt BB, it takes the form of a basketball shoe. Upon slipping your foot in, the shoe will automatically come to life, lighting up and adjusting to the shape of your foot so you always get the perfect fit.
The innovative self-lacing system has also been fully reworked. A small engine inside the midsole pulls the laces to tighten the Flyknit and quad-axial mesh upper. As Nike FitAdapt technology has evolved, the engine has become smaller and lighter, enabling more applications across more sports.
Unlike the HyperAdapt 1.0, the Adapt BB can connect to your smartphone so you can to fine-tune your fit, switch between presets, customise the lights, check battery levels and more! This can be extremely useful for those who are always on the go and don’t have time to manually fine tune everything through the shoe.
Additionally, unlike its predecessor, this basketball sneaker charges wirelessly by setting them on a mat. If the battery runs out while you’re wearing them, don’t sweat it. Your shoes will still unlace so you never get stuck.
Set to release very soon, the Nike Adapt BB Basketball Shoe will also be considerably cheaper compared to the HyperAdapt 1.0! Are you hyped for this release? Or is it too little too late?
