After getting a glimpse of the Ultra Boost 19 'Millennium Falcon' last month, images have now surfaced of the Star Wars x adidas Nite Jogger 'R2-D2', thanks to sneaker insider @justfreshkicks. Inspired by the resourceful astromech droid that made its debut all the way back in 1977 during the original trilogy, this is a must cop for both sneakerheads and Star Wars fans.
Building on the classic Nite Jogger that originally released around the same time as the first Star Wars film, the 'R2-D2' is painted in a white and blue palette complete with metallic accents to represent the beloved character's iconic look. Mesh and leather make up the upper, while a full length Boost midsole sits down below for comfort that's out of this world.
Around the heel, you'll find a blue graphic that represents the robot's computer interface arms compartment and manipulator arms compartment, and the tongue is graced with an illustration of the Industrial Automaton-manufactured droid.
While a release date for the Star Wars x adidas Nite Jogger 'R2-D2' has yet to be confirmed by adidas, it's safe to assume that it will launch around the end of December to coincide with the theatrical release of 'Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker'. Let us know if you'd rock these, and be sure to stay tuned for more news as it develops!
