Kanye West is certainly no stranger when it comes to weird colourways, but the upcoming Yeezy 500 High "Frosted Blue" might just take the cake as the strangest one yet. A colourway that has been on our radar since the end of last year, this is the first time that we're seeing the shoe in question, and it's genuinely creeping us out.
Bearing a striking resemblance to the Smurfs, the "Frosted Blue" boasts an insanely premium construction that works atop a series of bold blue neoprene pods. Supple suede wraps around the Yeezy's lacing system, heel, and toebox, while luxe leather also features in a denim-like hue.
While we definitely would've preferred if Ye kept it monotone, knowing him and the 500 silhouette he just had to throw in some beige tones here and there. Just like the "Stone" from 2019, a chunky neoprene tongue features, complemented by a bulbous adiPRENE midsole underfoot. Interestingly enough, unlike the recently released "Mist Slate" and "Shale Warm", adidas have brought back the toggle switch lacing system that made its initial debut on the "Tyrian". We're not exactly sure why but we're not complaining either.
Expected to land on April 12th, the adidas Yeezy 500 High "Frosted Blue" is truly something else. Let us know what you think of this crazy colourway, and while you're here, you might as well take an on-foot look at the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 "Mono Ice"!
