First Look: New Balance 204L “Pink” and “Lavender” - Here’s What We Know So Far

Fresh off the back of their sell out success, two unreleased colourways of the 204L have officially entered the conversation. The New Balance 204L “Pink” and “Lavender” are giving us early signs of what's next for one of 2025's rising silhouettes.

With very little online presence and no official word from New Balance just yet, these two new pairs are still flying under the radar. Given the response to the debut “Mushroom” and “Timberwolf” colourways, which both sold out within hours, we’d expect these to follow the same trajectory.

The New Balance 204L “Pink” edition leans fully into soft pastel territory with an all-over blush suede upper and subtle white accents through the laces and logos. It’s light, clean and just different enough to stand out without shouting for attention.

Meanwhile the “Lavender” colourway keeps things cool and tonal. Its barely-there lavender grey finish gives the 204L’s suede construction a more refined, almost minimal feel that fits right in with the soft neutrals dominating womenswear right now.

Both sit on the signature 204L midsole in light grey, offering that familiar lifestyle comfort with a slightly retro runner shape. The panelling, the shape and the materials all come together to create a shoe that feels premium without the high fashion price tag.

Following the original July and August drops, we’re expecting the “Pink” and “Lavender” colourways to land in early Autumn 2025. The timing makes sense these are the kind of pairs that help you transition out of the louder summer looks into something a bit more versatile.

Price is expected to stay consistent with the rest of the 204L line at £120, with releases likely to go through New Balance direct and selected partners across the UK and EU.

While the silhouette might be new, the impact it is having is already being felt. Sitting somewhere between the NB 530 and the NB 327 in terms of shape, the 204L continues to impress with its wearable design, comfortable fit and trend-focused colour palettes.

The early releases have already shown strong sell-through and with more pastel and neutral pairs entering the mix, the 204L looks set to continue its rise, particularly with The Sole Women’s community who have been waiting for something that balances fashion with function this well.
