After making worldwide news by naming Pharrell Williams as its latest Creative Director, Louis Vuitton has returned with yet another viral moment for the ages. This time around, the French luxury fashion house has officially unveiled one of its most extravagant pieces yet in the form of a $37k crochet leather jacket.
The jacket first appeared on our radar during the brand's SS23 collection show at Paris Fashion Week in June 2022, and it has now had its availability and price point revealed. Bearing the name of the “Crochet Leather Overshirt,” this piece seemingly looks to classic workwear designs for inspiration. Four pockets, a button closure and a robust collar each decorate the outside of this piece, likening it to the traditional chore coat shape.
The finest black calf leather makes up around 70% of this jacket's construction, with a further 30% found in the way of hand-crocheted patches on the sleeves. These patches offer unique takes on floral styles as well as the famed LV monogram logo, each in a variety of vibrant hues. For any high rollers looking to get their hands on one of these jackets, you'll have to contact the brand directly, as they are only available on a made-to-order basis. In other fashion news, Fear of God ESSENTIALS previews its first collection of the year.
