There's no doubting that the New Balance 550 has taken over the airwaves as this year's hottest silhouette - and it's only March! A failed basketball sneaker, the NB 550 came back into the limelight in 2020 after being picked up by Aimé Leon Dore's Teddy Santis and adopted into their New Balance collaborative line-up. Now, we get to take a look at two fresh pairs set to drop on New Balance on 15th March: "Pink" and "Orange".
Dressed with the usual 550 features, perforations across the sidewalls add breathability to the sneaker (a fault that was found with its predecessor back in the '80s), whilst the large 'N' logo sits above in a bubble-like form. Grey suede dresses the "Orange" edition's toe cap, whilst it remains pink on the other, and various accents across both sneakers in keep with their colourway's theme.
New Balance's basketball branding sits pride of place at the top of the tongue, whilst 550 branding dresses the forefoot of the sneaker.
