Get Schooled on When the Social Status x Air Max Penny 1 "Recess" Capsule Is Dropping

James Whitner is no stranger to the power of collaboration. After joining forces for a hugely successful run of collaborative A Ma Maniére x Jordan silhouettes, James and his team are now turning their attention back to Social Status, and linking with Nike on the Air Max Penny 1 for the “Recess” collection.

Arriving in both “Beige” and “Black”, it’s clear that the US-based retailer has adopted a school-style theme for the silhouettes, with both colourways boasting details such as colourful interchangeable Swooshes, and chalkboard-style text on the insoles. In terms of construction, both versions come crafted from premium nubuck and suede, which provides an elevated take on the basketball silhouette. The pairs come kitted out with a number of special features, including pull tabs on the tongues and heels, premium lace locks and range-specific branding.

Whilst the colour palette of the “Beige” pair remains tonal throughout, the “Black” version sees a contrasting beige panel wrap its way around the sneaker. Additionally, blue detailing appears underfoot for an extra pop of colour.

The pairs are dropping via a local in-store raffle, an online raffle (open 7th July), a members-only Discord exclusive raffle, and finally an online drop at Social Status on July 15th.
