Following 2018’s wildly popular Dragon Ball Z x adidas collection, it looks like the Three Stripes is about to team up with yet another popular Japanese franchise, and we’re beyond hyped! Starting out as a video game in 1996, Pokémon became an anime series one year later and quickly became one of the most popular shows in history. Spanning over two decades, Pokémon is still as popular as ever, so this collab is certainly no surprise!
Images courtesy of sneaker insider @hugokickz, the photos showcase two adidas Stan Smiths, both painted in ultra clean white hues. Unveiled in two colourways, including one for Pikachu and one for Squirtle, both shoes feature illustrations of their respective characters throughout the upper, as well as a cute embroidered patch that graces the medial side. The lateral side is reserved for the classic Three Stripes, and additional branding can be seen on the tongue and heel.
While it’s unclear whether the collaboration will solely be based off the Stan Smith, the timeless sneaker is the perfect base for a partnership of this calibre. Pretty much nothing else is known about the Pokémon x adidas collection at the moment, so be sure to keep it locked at The Sole Supplier for more news as it develops!
What Pokémon do you think should have their own shoe? Will you be adding these to your collection? Should adidas have used another silhouette? Let us know what you think, and be sure to check out the full adidas sneaker range!
