While most of the hype right now is definitely centred around Nike Dunks, that’s not to say that the Air Jordan 1 has seen any sort of dip in popularity! This is just as well, as Jordan Brand clearly has a few bangers up its sleeve to present to us before the year is over, such as the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Brotherhood” pictured here.
Decked out in hits of university gold and purple, the pair is said to be inspired by Michael Jordan’s fraternity Omega Psi Phi. The historical African American fraternity was founded all the way back in 1911, with Jordan becoming a member while he was at university. Many sources are mistaking these as a “Lakers” colourway, and while we can see the similarities, this is not the case with this pair.
Crafted from premium leather as with the majority of Air Jordan 1 Highs, the pair showcase vintage panelling and branding comes in the form of Nike’s Swoosh logo stitched onto both the lateral and medial sides. Other notable details include Nike Air logos at the tongue, wings logos on the collar, padding around the ankles and a perforated toe box which was originally created to optimise air flow.
This is all placed conveniently on top of a white rubber midsole that conceals a full-length Nike Air unit for all the comfort and support you need both on and off the court. If you’re already eyeing-up the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Brotherhood”, then you can expect to see a release later on this year. We don’t know anything else just yet, so keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for more as we know it. In the meantime, make sure to check out leaked images of the AJ4 “Red Thunder”!
