After we were first teased with leaked images earlier on this month, it seems that Stone Island has finally revealed details of it’s long awaited collaboration with New Balance. Via a post on Instagram, the Italian label has revealed that this will be part of a long-term partnership for the two brands, and the silhouette in question this time around is the RC ELITE racing shoe.
Designed originally as a high-performance race day sneaker, Stone Island has applied it’s signature technical aesthetic to the pair along with some instantly-recognisable branding for good measure. While these aren’t quite the terrace-ready sneakers that some fans were expecting, we’ve got absolutely no doubts that there will be a certain fanbase that will love these!
Crafted from cutting edge fabrics such as the lightweight mesh seen here, the sneakers pay homage to both New Balance and Stone Island’s distinctive heritages with the use of both the classic N logo and the Compass logo, both applied using 3D techniques and on the right and left foot respectively. The sneakers are part of SI’s Product Research line and utilises a full-length carbon fiber plate concealed within the midsole to offer optimum comfort and support at all times.
If you’re liking the look of the Stone Island x New Balance RC ELITE_SI then there’s a pretty niche way that you can get hold of them, so read carefully. From the 7th October through to the 10th October the sneakers can exclusively be previewed via a unique experience in Stone Island stores only, where you can inspect the sneakers via a tablet. If you wish to go ahead with the purchase the sales assistant will then complete the order via the webstore while you are present. Keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for all the latest in the footwear world and while you’re here, check out these paisley print New Balance 327s!
