Within the past two years, the Yeezy Boost 700 has transformed from being the butt of a joke to one of the most sought-after sneakers in history. Since it made its debut in 2017, the chunky runner has birthed four iconic colourways, with the fifth one, the Yeezy Boost 700 V2 'Geode', set to release this coming Saturday, March 23rd at 7am over at adidas UK.

With that said, we set up a Twitter poll to find out if sneakerheads think the 700 has taken over the 350 as the most popular Yeezy model. Of course, this might sound like a pretty big statement to make, but we actually got some pretty surprising results. First off, a whopping 55% (over half!) of people thought that the Yeezy Boost 350 is still more popular. This shouldn't come as a surprise, as the 350 did launch more than two years before the 700 and also has twenty more colourways. That being said, one Twitter user stated, "Definitely not, but the Yeezy Boost 700 V1 is undoubtedly the most original and stunning silhouette yet!"; - something we definite'y agree with.

With its retro-inspired looks and highly intricate design, the 700 may not be for everyone, but it's definitely unique to say the least. This Saturday's 'Geode' is the perfect example of this. Dressed from heel to toe in luxe leather and supple suede, a breathable mesh is thrown across it for the perfect all-year-round wear.

Secondly, 25% of sneakerheads do thought that the 700 has taken over as the most popular Yeezy - that's one quarter of the thousands of people surveyed! While this is a pretty shocking number, it really does show how powerful trends can be. The chunky sneaker trend first began at the start of 2018, and while it might not have been taken that seriously at the start, we can pretty much guarantee that every sneakerhead has at least one pair of dad shoe in their daily rotation.

With that said, one Twitter user stated, "In years to come, the 700 v1 will go down as the best Yeezy ever.";
