Updated 19/9/23: Last week we were treated to early images of The Whitaker Group's upcoming New Balance 9060 collab, but now James Whitner's company is ready to share its official campaign imagery. Giving its own A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan collabs a strong run for their money, the TWG x New Balance 9060 "Missing Pieces" pack dials up the details with premium materials and pretty pastel tones. Names of the colourways have now officially been revealed as "Silver Moss Green" and "Daydream Blue".
As always, the group's collaborative effort places a strong focus on storytelling. This time the angle explores youth culture and its potential to create positive change in the world - in the brand's own words: "standing up for a vision of society, reality and the world around them that will only emerge through culturally-relevant conversation and their committed actions."
As it stands, it's looking like releases for both pairs will take place at TWG retailers only, but in the event of a New Balance release (or you don't mind copping at resale) then be sure to hit the links under the images. In the meantime, scroll for the original article, including an in-depth look at the pairs.
Original Article: After making its debut via a collaboration with Joe Freshgoods, New Balance’s 9060 has finally started to find its feet within the sneaker scene. The hybrid sneaker’s chunky build and bulbous sole unit were originally met with a mixed response, but with GR colourways now selling out left, right and centre, it’s no surprise that everyone wants their share, including the Whitaker Group. That’s right - A Ma Maniére’s parent company is getting in on the action with two new New Balance 9060 colourways, dubbed the “Missing Pieces” pack.
With both brands known to place an emphasis on craftmanship, the “Missing Pieces” Whitaker Group x New Balance 9060s are just as premium as you’d expect. Soft pigskin suede provides the perfect canvas for both pastel-toned colourways; one purple, and one pistachio, while wide mesh peeks through from underneath the panelling, in shades of either pink or cream. Underfoot, both pairs boast light-coloured sole units - these arrive in cream on the “Green” colourway, and (slightly confusingly) green on the “Purple” version. And, even though the sole unit was polarising at first, there’s no doubt it houses all the tech you need for a comfortable ride, with ABZORB and SBS cushioning resting underfoot.
As it stands, the Whitaker Group and New Balance are still yet to reveal a release date for their “Missing Pieces” 9060 collection, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more news comes in. In the meantime, you can set a release reminder for the pairs by hitting the ‘Notify me’ button below.
Up next, the New Balance 530 arrives in more pastel shades.
