Czech retailer Footshop proudly delivers one of this season’s most unique and stylish adidas collaborations. The limited-edition sneaker, which is live now via raffle release, celebrates the traditional craft of blue printing.
Not your conventional release, the Footshop x adidas Superstar actually marks the first time ever that adidas join forces with a central European retailer. Footshop’s first collaborative adidas project gets finished with a level of detailing rarely seen on the Superstar. In fact, this might just be one of the most premium collabs of 2020.
Speaking on the accomplishment, Footshop’s owner Peter Hajduček says, “This collaboration is one of the biggest milestones we could have achieved. Not many sneaker retailers under 10 years achieve this. We’re very proud that adidas chose us to collaborate with on such an iconic model.”
The method of blueprinting is part of UNESCO’s cultural heritage, a tradition which dates back more than 300 years. It’s especially famous across Central Europe where Footshop calls home. As a homage to their roots, this Superstar is crafted with a traditional print, the fabric soaked in an indigo blue bath.
As a contrast to this traditional element, Footshop also celebrate their countries love for hiking and the great outdoors. A robust outsole promises durability underfoot and the theme is accentuated with a hiker-boot style lacing system.
Only 520 pairs were made of the Footshop x adidas Superstar “Blueprinting”. Luckily, this isn’t a “Friends & Family” only release. Instead, you can secure a pair now via Footshop’s online raffle. The winners will be announced on 10th October! Each pair is unique and includes a blueprinted shoe bag.
