Gucci and adidas caused quite a stir when they first joined forces last summer, and 2023’s efforts are shaping up to be just as good. Having only just dropped their latest collection of Gazelles, both brands have turned their attention to the adidas ZX 8000, and are set to release four colourways of the retro runner very soon.
As retro sneakers continue to dominate the scene, the ZX 8000 seems a natural fit for the 80’s sportswear-inspired collaboration. Originally dropping in 1988, the ZX 8000 premiered adidas’ Torsion system, making it not just one of the most stylish, but also one of the most supportive running sneakers of its time.
Considered one of adidas’ most legendary releases, the archival classic is more than ready to make its comeback under the direction of the Italian fashion house. Each colourway draws from the past, while the materials used have obviously been given a Gucci-fied upgrade, with monogrammed canvas and soft suede making up the shoe’s construction. If you’re looking to grab a pair, then be sure to head over to adidas CONFIRMED now where you can secure your size via a limited pre-order ahead of the wider drop on April 7th.
Up next, the COMME des GARCONS HOMME x New Balance 580 is dropping soon.
