NYC-based brand Hidden has linked up with Asics for the Gel-Kinetic 2.0.
The collaborative shoe is inspired by Michael Green’s 1986 book Zen and the Art of the Macintosh: Discoveries on the Path to Computer Enlightenment – basically a book about computers and the beginnings of digital art.

The book was released two years after the original Macintosh had come out, a time where computers and computer design were still very new and exciting. “Green approached the Macintosh through Zen philosophy, treating the screen as a place for patience, discovery and digital meditation,” said Hidden on an IG post. “Pixel by pixel, the computer became a new kind of canvas.”
And you can really see that in the shoe. The white upper features a pixelated Asics logo adding to that retro digitised aesthetic, as well as green details that reference the book on the tongue and the sole. The blue tones on the sole also add to the digital vibe. And it looks like there’s some apparel, too, taking on the pixelated motif, with graphics inspired by Michael Green’s book.
The Hidden x Asics Gel-Kinetic 2.0 releases this weekend in Tokyo, at the first Hidden pop-up in Japan, in partnership with Asics. Stay tuned for the global release date.
