How To Cop The Comme des Garçons x Nike Air Foamposite One “Cat Eye”

Fresh off the back of debuting their collaboration on the Nike Air Max TL 2.5 at Paris Fashion Week, Comme des Garçons are once again partnering with Nike on a release which is sure to turn some heads. In the lead up to the Paris Olympics, the Parisian-based brand has partnered with Nike on the iconic Air Foamposite One to release a colourway inspired by the special occasion.

If you’re new to the sneaker scene, the Nike Air Foamposite might not be a silhouette you’re familiar with, especially for those of us in Europe. Created from a series of experiments in the mid to late-90s, the Nike Foamposite was created to be the perfect basketball shoe. With its futuristic design, snug fit and one-piece composition, the shoe was unlike anything the world had seen before. Despite not being one of the best selling sneakers of the time, the Foamposite became a cult classic with a reputation for standing out, a reputation which has only gotten stronger with age.

Similar to the design used in their 2021 collaboration, CDG have opted for a stealthy black upper, placing focus on the unique, never before seen three-dimensional ripple pattern seen across the upper. The Olympic inspired design touches can be seen on the heel and tongue pull tabs, with subtle gold, silver and bronze stripes which make reference to the medals given out in the competition. To top things off we also see Nike’s iconic mini-swoosh on the toebox as well as some Comme des Garçons Homme Plus branding on the heel.

Set to drop on Friday the 19th of July at 11am, this latest collaboration between CDG x Nike is set to be released exclusively at Dover Street Market. Created by Rei Kawakubo, founder of Comme des Garçons, it’s only right for this to be the only place you can get your hands on this elusive release. If you’re lucky enough to live near one of the many Dover Street Market Stores across the globe, you can secure your pair in store. Alternatively, the CDG x Nike Foamposite "Cat Eye" will also see an online release on the DSM E-SHOP on the same date.

The sneaker will retail for a price of £335 and will be available in both men’s and women’s sizing, running from a US 5-13. Be warned though, despite the full size run we expect stock for this release to be extremely limited. We’d recommend heading over to the DSM website and setting up your account as soon as you can and setting your alerts so don't forget.
