As we draw near to the six month anniversary of Virgil Abloh's death, Off-White has continued to keep marching forward to solidify the late designer's legacy. Now, Ib Kamara has been named the brand's new Art and Image Director, joining a collective of creatives and overseeing the brand's artistic director from here on out.
For those unfamiliar with Ib Kamara, he's a London-based creative who has styled Off-White's runway shows for years, leading to a close relationship shared between him and Virgil. Kamara is also the editor-in-chief of Dazed, so it's fair to say he's clued up on the industry.
To coincide with his own Instagram announcement, Ib wrote “Virgil will forever be with us. With me. He changed the world and left an indelible mark on anyone who encountered him and beyond. Generous with his time, mind and creativity - he saw everyone and created with all humans in mind. I am honored to further link my ties to Off-White™️ as their Art & Image Director and be a part of the team that will tell the rest of the story Virgil started writing for us all” - Ibrahim Kamara, Art&Image Director Off-White™️.
In other news, Future taps Kanye West to design his 'I never liked you' album merchandise.
