A shoe that’s equally casual and elevated, the Nike Moon takes on a retro feel without overcomplicating things.
And it comes with some interesting lore. The Nike history books tell us that Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman was trying to create a shoe with a stronger grip on the sole, and one day he clocked his wife’s waffle iron and its grid pattern – the raised squares could provide the traction he was searching for. That was the first Nike prototype, but it never hit the market.
Just a year ago, Jacquemus was going through the Nike archive, saw the Moon shoe and decided to recreate it for his Nike collaboration, which led to Nike reviving the silhouette. And now, all thanks to the French designer, we can finally buy the Moon shoe.

I went for a green colourway so I thought I’d keep the green theme with a bag. I’ve layered a T-shirt over a lace long-sleeve and a baggy pair of jeans.

Black and brown is an elite colour combo – I’ve paired this brown bandana top with a black sheer skirt with shorts underneath. Plus sunnies and jewellery. I wanted to create a more elevated look to show just how versatile the Moon shoes can be.
