Earlier this summer, images surfaced of a mysterious Gyakusou x Nike collaboration. While you spent the sizzling hot months lounging on the beach and chilling by the sea, we spent it trying to work out what the silhouette was supposed to be. Now, three months later, Jun Takahashi has finally spilled the beans, and here's the scoop!
Giving the world-renowned Air Zoom Pegasus 36 a total rework, the legendary Japanese designer's latest Swoosh collab pays tribute to the running revolution of the 1970s. Arriving in two distinct colour schemes, the upper is crafted from an ultra breathable mesh while the foam midsole has been beefed up with chunky treads so you can run on whatever surface you desire.
White Swooshes shoot across the lateral and medial side panels, and this is accompanied by a delicate rose motif. The iconic Sunburst Swoosh hits the heel, and to round it all off, “Gyakusou Went The Distance” graces the toe box, finalising the timeless aesthetic.
In terms of apparel, the shoes will release alongside a range of running jackets, Dri-Fit tees, and tights, all painted in red and yellow colour palettess and adorned with a massive "GIRA"; logo on the chest, which is short for "Gyakusou International Running Association".
Set to hit shelves on September 26th, the Gyakusou x Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 could be Takahashi's best Nike collaboration to date! Will you be grabbing a pair? Let us know what's on your mind, and keep your eyes peeled for more launch into as it develops!
