The new season of JW Anderson’s capsule for Uniqlo just dropped on our screens and it’s taking us out of seasonal depression with its burst of colour.
The JW Anderson x Uniqlo linkup began back in 2017, and it’s slowly but surely become every season’s reliable release. The partnership always delivers comfortable and elevated basics, guaranteed to sell out almost immediately, and this season is no exception.
The multi-coloured capsule features preppy pieces (the collection’s named “Prep Meets Play”, after all) bringing a Saltburn-esque, British summer vibe with lots of denim, polo shirts, Henleys and technical-wear.

The lightweight jackets
From Loewe and Dior to his own label, Jonathan Anderson knows how to make a solid jacket. Inspired by vintage workwear the zip-up blouson is honestly a versatile piece that will last you for years. It’s the easiest jacket to just throw on come warmer weather, and it pairs well with almost anything. Meanwhile, save the weatherproof jacket for a rainy day. This functional jacket will repel any sort of rain or wind coming at you. And we have to stan a fold-away hood detail.
The every-day shirts
Whether it’s a roomy, relaxed fit or a slimmer one, the shirts from this new collection can effortlessly slide into any capsule wardrobe. Pick the denim option for a Canadian tuxedo moment or to wear over shorts and a T-shirt. Or, you can go for the classic Oxford shirt – a smart yet casual piece with a breezy oversized silhouette which you can literally wear anywhere with anything.
The retro T-shirts
Jonathan Anderson has come through with a very athleisure-inspired collection, and the tees are the main character. You can tell Jonathan had fun with this one. The Henley, created as a base layer for Regatta rowers in the 19th century, is one of the longest-standing sportswear designs. This retro, football-inspired Henley T-shirt is a playful iteration with the stripes on the shoulders. If you want to go down an ‘80s route, this ringer T-shirt from the collection is the one for you – pair with tiny shorts and a mullet, Stranger Things-style.
The chill fleece
Although quarter-zips may have gained a specific reputation and are still very much tech-bro territory (despite Cench actively fighting to change that with a matcha in hand) – this one’s an exception. The oversized silhouette with the vintage sportswear feel make it a comfy and fun layering piece, far removed from Canary Wharf.
The relaxed trousers
No casual fit is done without a good baggy pant. Jonathan Anderson has brought us a solid technical trouser that you can wear to the trails but also for brunch. This one’s so good, it’s already sold out. And for the denim aficionados, the straight-fit selvedge option from the collection is guaranteed to stay in your wardrobe for a long time.
