KITH's ASICS x X-Men Collab Takes Inspo From Collectable Trading Cards

We’ve seen plenty of clean and minimalist collabs from KITH this year, but Ronnie Fieg’s latest effort has showcased something a little different. Joining forces with ASICS and Marvel, this latest collaboration celebrates the 60th anniversary of X-Men, and packs in a load of special features to make it a particularly unique drop.

Working on top of both the ASICS GEL-LYTE III silhouette and a selection of accompanying apparel pieces, the KITH x X-Men collection sees each shoe draw inspiration from the series’ most beloved characters: Beast, Cyclops, Gambit, Rogue, Storm and Wolverine. Each character gets a corresponding colourway, though Wolverine’s suits from 1975 and 1980 both get their own pair. In addition, each pair comes with a recreation of the 1992 Uncanny X-Men series trading cards - the original versions being serious collector's items.

Now for the really fun bit, as there’s no telling which pair you’ll unwrap if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on this release. Just like a pack of trading cards, each pair comes concealed in collectable boxes and silver mylar bags - and what’s more, is that some styles are rarer than others. According to our sources, both Wolverine variants are super limited at only 250 pairs, while each other colourway is limited to 2500.

Following an exclusive early launch at Comicon, pairs will be dropping at KITH locations and KITH’s online store on July 28th. Take a look at the pairs below, and let us know what you think of the launch’s execution over on social media!
