Nike started the Vomero re-launch in February with the Updated 5th August, 2025: Vomero18, and now we've got official confirmation that we'll see the Plus and Premium models drop in August and October respectively
Original Story: Nike just dropped a bombshell with these two new additions to the Vomero family. If you love a soft ride that makes logging miles a treat, these are definitely worth checking out.
First up is the Vomero Plus that takes everything we liked about the Vomero 18 and dials it up a notch. It packs a full ZoomX midsole, giving you an even softer, lighter, and more responsive feel underfoot. Think of it as a plush sofa for your feet, ready to soak up the impact of those long runs. Nike even consulted with women athletes, including the Project Dreamweaver runners, to really nail the fit and feel here, ensuring it works for everyone from seasoned marathoners to those just starting their running journey.
According to Conner Mantz, who won the 2024 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials, the Vomero Plus "helps motivate me to get out the door and keeps me feeling smooth for my everyday runs." He also points out how the cushioning "saves the pounding of my legs hitting the ground." And Jess Hull, a 2024 Olympic silver medalist, sees it as a fantastic "introductory shoe for a smooth, responsive and well cushioned ride at a wide range of paces."
The Vomero Plus (RRP: £154.99) also features a thoughtful midsole design with an increased rocker geometry and a wide platform. This provides an ultra cushioned sensation without sacrificing stability. The upper uses a soft, stretchy engineered mesh with enhanced comfort around the collar and tongue, and the outsole is made from high abrasion rubber, so you know it will last.
For those who demand the absolute maximum in cushioning, Nike presents the Vomero Premium (RRP: £209.99). This is where things get seriously interesting. Nike combined ZoomX foam with exposed Air Zoom units in both the heel and forefoot to create a sensation of cushioning that is genuinely next level. We are talking a 55 millimeter heel stack height; the tallest in Nike’s road running lineup; which practically floats you above the tarmac.
Nike designed the Vomero Premium with elite marathon runners in mind, those who often juggle super shoes for race day and softer trainers for their daily grind. This shoe aims to be the one "super trainer" that does it all, helping you run more, recover faster, and smash your race day goals. Think of it as an anti gravity treadmill for your feet, designed to reduce impact and help you push your limits.

Faith Kipyegon, an elite athlete who has been training in the Vomero Premium for her attempt to break the four minute mile, says it is "so soft, cushioned and comfortable, and it helps me train harder with less impact to allow me to recover faster and stay focused on my goal." Deepa Ramprasad, Senior Director of Running Footwear at Nike, emphasised that "The Vomero Plus and Vomero Premium aren't simply two new shoes within our maximum cushioning line. They are created from deep insights and testing, offering distinct benefits that serve as powerful catalysts to help you get out the door feeling confident and cushioned."
The ZoomX foam midsole provides roughly 85 percent energy return, giving you serious propulsion with every stride. Plus, by exposing the Air Zoom units, Nike gave them more room to expand and contract, which increases their benefit and provides even greater energy return.
You can get your hands on the Vomero Plus starting 7th August on nike.com and at select retailers while the Vomero Premium arrives on 16th October. Make sure you click the ‘Notify me’ button for your best chance at snagging these for retail.
