Liberty London, the renowned UK retailer, continues its partnership with adidas Originals, this time injecting one of the signature patterns into another well loved silhouette.
This time, Liberty London has chosen the Sambas. The design showcases Liberty's "Kazusa" print, drawing inspiration from traditional block printing methods and those rather lovely Indian chintz patterns from the 17th century. This latest offering, a women's exclusive, arrives in a crisp "Footwear White/Crew White/Better Scarlet" colourway.
Across the shoe, we see a straightforward approach with the T toe, lace guards, tongue, and inner lining presented in clean white and off white tones. The profile's three stripes and the heel panel, however, make a statement in a striking ruby red.
The main body of the upper employs a textile material, which displays a winding floral design. Underneath, we also find touches of that "Better Scarlet". A detail of subtle luxury is the gold, gleaming "Samba" script adorning the lateral side, all grounded by a traditional light gum brown sole unit.
This release is the latest in a string of link ups between Liberty London and adidas Originals, with the department store having already put its mark on models such as the Gazelle Indoor and Stan Smith since the start of this year. Considering the Samba's widespread appeal, this particular Liberty London x adidas collaboration could well be the most coveted yet.
The Liberty London x adidas Samba will become available for purchase on 1st June with raffles for this release already starting to pop up at retailers such as FOOTDISTRICT and Asphaltgold but we also expect a release through adidas' official website. Priced at £95, this is a great cop if you're looking for your next summer shoe. For your best chance at getting your hands on a pair at retail, be sure to hit that notification bell.
