Recently, renowned music streaming platform LimeWire announced its comeback to the media industry after shutting down in 2010 due to piracy issues. However, its relaunch initiative in the NFT space definitely got the attention of big names, including Universal Music Group.

New company owners Paul and Julian Zehetmayr secured a deal with the multinational music corporation to release music collectables, opening endless opportunities for artists to sell their work. UMG announced that their artists have access to LimeWire's NFT marketplace to list their media for sale as non-fungible tokens, such as exclusive audio recordings, behind-the-scenes footage, plus more.

Universal Music Group is home to many of the world's leading artists we know today, such as Billie Eilish, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, and even K-pop groups like BTS and Seventeen. This partnership between the two music labels is undeniably breaking boundaries between Web2 and Web3, enhancing the way fans access their favourite artist's music.
