Following the launch of its Gran Turismo 7 racing collaboration, Anti Social Social Club has now been acquired by Marquee Brands. The move sees Marquee brands ill-fittingly add ASSC to its already existing stable of companies.
For those unfamiliar with Marquee Brands, it's a New York-based holding company that was founded in 2014. With ties to both fashion and cooking, Marquee Brands owns the likes of Ben Sherman, Dakine and oddly enough, Martha Stewart.
Once upon a time, ASSC was at the height of streetwear, with its drops selling out within seconds and gracing social media sites such as Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr. Unfortunately, the brand saw an untimely downfall due to its poor handling of shipping and orders, leaving many fans waiting months for its products.
Despite all this, Anti Social Social Club remains prominent in the streetwear scene and seems to be dead set on regaining its prior glory. Are we likely to see an ASSC revival under Marquee Brands? Only time will tell! In other fashion news, Liam Gallagher marks the release of his new album with C.P. Company, Barbour and Snow Peak collaborations.
