After a hugely successful past year for the Nike Dunk, it doesn’t look like the silhouette’s rollout will be slowing down anytime soon. In fact, it seems quite the opposite, as Nike have started working the Dunk into their in-line collections. The newest Dunk to be revealed is the Nike Dunk Low “Bright Side,” and it takes on the same theme as the recently revealed “Bright Side” Air Force 1 Shadow.
The “Bright Side” Dunk Low starts off with a creamy coloured corduroy base, which gives way to tonal beige and brown suede overlays, and randomly placed canvas patches and embroidered detailing. Starting from the front of the shoe, beige suede overlays wrap around the cream cord toe box, before giving way to green corduroy and canvas eyestays that sit at the top of the cord side panels.
Towards the back of the shoe, the heel and ankle overlays take on a new brownish suede, and a corduroy patch appears at the base of the heel. The middle part of the heel comes dressed in yellow canvas, and before the brown suede once again appears on the heel tab, which comes embroidered with a yellow Nike wordmark. Finishing off the mixed-material construction is a pink canvas Swoosh, that sweeps across both the lateral and medial walls of the sneaker, and a cursive “On The Bright Side” wordmark on the insole. Elsewhere, embroidered tasselled flower patterns and dots appear scattered across the sidewalls, and a white midsole is topped with a brown Grind Rubber outsole to match the rest of the “Bright Side” Dunk’s earthy colour scheme.
At the moment, the real inspiration and story behind the “Bright Side” Nike Dunk Low, and other “Bright Side” designs remain under wraps, but we imagine that they’ll come to light alongside any other silhouettes that join the Dunk and AF1 in the pack.
